Aims and Objectives
Our general aim is to develop youngsters that are, well
informed and cultured, boys and girls who have minds of
their own, a strong sense of moral purpose and an
interest in learning for its own sake. More specifically
we endeavour to:
- Prepare children for transfer into secondary
education, by fostering the individual academic
needs of every child.
- Maximise the opportunities for extra-curricular
life in the school.
- Develop a caring community within the School (in
which all members show commitment, courtesy,
co-operation, tolerance and compassion towards one
another) and in doing, learn to understand that they
are also members of a wider community.
- Produce happy and well-rounded children, who are
able in their final years at Amesbury to become
responsible for their own learning, and who can and
are able to take a lead in the running of the
school.
- Promote and nurture a close relationship between
home and school in the partnership of education.
- Develop the skills of all staff in order to
improve the performance of our pupils.
