Amesbury School

Welcome to Amesbury School

Amesbury a co-educational preparatory day school on Surrey Sussex Hants borders

Founded in 1870, Amesbury is the oldest preparatory school in the Haslemere Hindhead area.

The main building was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens as a school (and as such is unique) and stands in a 34 acres estate in the heart of the Surrey countryside.

Although Amesbury has been educating children for over a century, it is modern in outlook and infrastructure.  As a co-educational day school (for children between the ages of 2 - 13+) brothers and sisters study together.

We offer a unique and distinctive ethos; academically rigorous, but relaxed and good humoured, steely and competitive yet civilised, self confident but lacking in arrogance.  The typical Amesburian is well rounded, interesting and very much his or her own person: an individual within a system, rather than a clone because of it.

We hope that this website will be of interest to the Amesbury community in its widest sense.
